FAQ

Common questions

Plain answers before your first visit.

First visit

01What happens at my first visit?

Plan on about 60 minutes. You talk with your doctor, have a screen of balance, eye movement and coordination, and a hands-on exam. Your doctor then explains what was found, the options and their risks. Care starts that day only if you agree. See the First visit page for what to bring.

02What if I have already seen another provider?

Please bring any imaging reports or notes you have. With your permission we can ask your other providers for records and let them know what we find.

Safety

01Is chiropractic care safe?

Every kind of care has risks. Most people feel only mild soreness. Rare serious problems have been reported after neck adjustments, including a tear in a neck artery that can lead to a stroke. Your doctor explains the risks before you decide, and you can say no to any part of care. If you have a sudden severe headache, new weakness or trouble speaking or seeing, call 911 first.

Care

01Will it hurt?

Most people feel pressure or stretch, and some feel sore for a day or two. Tell us at any point and we will change what we are doing or stop.

02How many visits will I need?

That depends on your exam and your goals. After the first visit your doctor sets a plan with you and checks it as you go. Results vary from person to person.

03Do I need x-rays?

Only when medically necessary. Your doctor decides after your exam and explains why before ordering any, and where they would be taken.

Fees

01Do you take my insurance?

We bill some plans, and what a plan pays for chiropractic care differs. Our front desk checks your benefits before your first visit and calls you with what they find. The How fees work page explains it in full.

02What if I do not use insurance?

You have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. We give you a written estimate before your first visit, and your doctor tells you the fee for each part of care before it happens.

Who we see

01Can I come if I am pregnant, or bring my child?

Our care is set up for adults. If you are pregnant, tell us when you book, and your doctor will say what care fits and when to check with your obstetric provider first. For a child, call us and we will point you to a provider who sees children.

Visits

01What is your cancellation policy?

Please call us as early as you can if you need to change a visit. Ask the front desk about our cancellation policy.
